Development of a 3D finite element model at mesoscale for the crushing of unidirectional composites: Application to plates crushing

چکیده
This paper presents the development of a new 3D finite element model for simulation UD composites materials under crushing, at mesoscale. It is based on Discrete Ply Model (DPM), enhanced with damage law to represent compression constant stress due localised crushing and its propagation from one another. The aims take into account various types involved in laminates during associated absorbed energies: delamination, splitting, ply rupture tension or bending, fragmentation friction. confronted experimental results obtained laminated plates crushing: not only global metrics (force, energy absorbed…) but especially key morphological aspects front (delamination lengths, splaying, number plies debris wedge…) thanks high speed camera pictures.
